Dig up some not-so-clean, green fun at Earth Day Play Date

Our April Creature Feature is this Saturday!

I am looking forward to Earth Day Play Date because it’s always a lot of fun as we learn about being green and helping the world around us. I am also excited because we have some very special opportunities for our guests this year.

We will be holding an electronic recycling drive in front of the Museum, thanks to our friends at Greentek Recylcing. Click here to view a list of recyclable items. If you donate even just one item, you will be entered to win a raffle for free equipment pickups or an iPad. What a great incentive for spring cleaning!

Author Ellen Fischer also will be here to read her book If an Armadillo Went to a Restaurant, an entertaining look at the actual diets of different species of animals. We will have a limited supply of the book for sale in the Trail’s End Store and you will have a chance to meet Ellen and get your book autographed.

I am hoping for good weather so we can all spend time outside enjoying nature and getting creative in our mud café. Guests will have the chance to make mud pies or just mess around with some dirt. Parents might want to bring a change of clothes for the little ones, or wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.

Be sure to mark your calendar for Earth Day Play Date this Saturday, April 18, from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. I hope to see you all there!
