Ponds & Puddles in Spring

Ponds are busy places in spring. Learn why and how animals depend on ponds and puddles, not just to drink but also for reproduction and habitat.

Objectives:

At the end of the program the student will be able to:

  • Describe how the water cycle works
  • Name two animals that live near or in a pond or puddle
  • Describe characteristics of different types of animals
  • Name a food source for pond animals

All preschool programs are aligned with Foundations: Early Learning Standards for North Carolina and Strategies for Guiding Their Success.

Methods and Activities:

Interactive/sensory stations, live animals, museum collections, natural artifacts
